Publishing Conference Papers

How are annual conference papers selected for publishing in The Chronicle of Education Law?

  • Publishers of the Education Law Association consider the following criteria when inviting conference proposals to be published as articles in The Chronicle of Education Law.

Criteria 1. Peer-Review Score

  • All conference proposals go through a double-masked peer-review process based on criteria set by the Conference Committee. The publishers consider conference proposals with total reviewer scores of with 90% score or higher (4.5-point average) from three or more reviewers.

Criteria 2. Publishing Priorities

  • Publishers invite papers whose proposals are timely, significant, urgent, and important to education law or a subfield of study. They ensure that each article aligns with the mission of the Education Law Association and advance the specific goals of The Chronicle of Education Law.

Criteria 3. Topic Saturation

  • Publishers invite papers that examine or contribute uniquely to a highly-published topic. Special attention is given to the distribution of papers in both K12 law and higher education law.

Criteria 4. Timely Submission

  • Well-written papers submitted by Labor Day that meet the submission requirements go through a final peer review and editorial process.

Distribution Schedule

  • If selected for publication, the papers submitted by Labor Day will be featured in the Fall edition of The Chronicle of Education Law for distribution at the annual conference.
  • Invited papers submitted by December 1 will be considered for the Spring edition.

Future Editions

  • All conference presenters, attendees, members, guests, and the general public are encouraged to submit a periodical proposal at EducationLaw.org for future editions of The Chronicle of Education Law.
  • Proposals submitted by December 1 will be considered for the Spring edition.
  • Proposals submitted by February 1 will be considered for the Summer edition.
