ELA’s section on student rights focuses on the rights of students concerning their education, including the right to an education, student-initiated clubs and extracurricular activities, the right to be free from discrimination, the right to privacy, and the five freedoms of the First Amendment—religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. This area of education law also deals with the legal processes for school attendance, disciplining students, and conducting search and seizure protocols.
