On October 19, 2023, the Board of Directors approved the following policies regarding food served at the Education Law Association’s events.

Question 1. Can an event attendee receive a partial refund for an event where they do not intend to consume the food being served and would like to arrange their own meal? 

  • Policy: No partial refunds for food, benefits, or other inclusions will be given.

Question 2. Should the Education Law Association expend resources to provide specialized meal alternatives for attendees with specific dietary needs at events, and if so, how should these needs be addressed and managed? 

  • Policy: Event staff will ensure that reasonable dietary options, such as vegetarian dishes, are available. ELA does not support attendees directly communicating with hotel and catering staff about ELA food orders and other ELA-paid transactions, and in the event that the menus are insufficient to meet their needs, individuals are encouraged to bring their own meals.

Contains misleading or false information. Or false information which is intended to mislead and misinform.
Contains abusive or derogatory content
Publishes or posts other people’s private information (such as home phone number and address) without their express authorization and permission.
Excessively violent or cruel, or nudity or sexual activity.
Text, image, audio, or video of graphic sexual acts intended to arouse, or content promoting underage, non-consensual, or other illegal sexual themes, whether simulated or real.
Irrelevant, indiscriminate, or inappropriate communication to recipients.
Contains spam, fake content or potential malware
Content containing violent language, gruesome or disgusting imagery, or graphic images or accounts of physical trauma.
