Biography

Zachary Hyder is a third-year Ph.D. student in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Tennessee (UTK). In the summer of 2022, Zachary completed a Legal Studies graduate certificate with UTK’s College of Law. Zachary’s research interest centers on how not only policy decisions are influenced by the US legal process but also investigates for the causal effects of policy change in higher education. To this end, Zachary is completing additional coursework in causal inference and econometric methods. He will receive a graduate minor in integrated statistics upon graduation. Zachary currently serves as the graduate research assistant for the Chancellor’s office where he supports campus leadership and strategic decision-making by providing timely applied research and data analysis.
