Biography |
I have been in in education for 27 years! Currently, I am the proud principal of Tri-North Middle School in Bloomington, Indiana. Before this amazing opportunity, I was the assistant principal at Tri-North, and before then, a research associate at the Center on Education and Lifelong Learning at Indiana University. We produced deliverable content for teachers in the areas of Universal Design for Learning, Restorative Practices, Cultural Sustaining Teaching Practices, Social-Emotional Learning, and Positive Behavior Supports. The highlight of my career was in my 19 years as high school English teacher. I was recognized as Monroe County’s Teacher of the Year in 2012. Other education accolades include an Ed.S and Ed.D in the education leadership program from Indiana University. I also have my certification in education law, my superintendent licensure, and have published three articles. I believe strongly in the power of public schools as it truly is the great equalizer in our country.
