Dr. Widelock joined High Point University in 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Educator Preparation and Director of the Teacher Residency Program. He has a Bachelor’s degree in BioEthics, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary Science and Technology, a Juris Doctor degree, and a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership. Prior to joining High Point University, Dr. Widelock worked in K-12 education teaching various science courses including Biology, AP Environmental Science, Earth/Environmental Science, Zoology, and Global Science Issues. He eventually left the classroom to become a high school administrator. Dr. Widelock’s research interests include educational law, education policy, secondary leadership, and co-teaching in higher education. Dr. Widelock is licensed in several areas including School Administrator: Superintendent, School Administrator: Principal, Science: Biology 9-12, and Health and Physical Education.
