About the Orientation
The primary purpose of offering education experiences on EducationLaw.org is to feature its members’ research, skills, and unique contributions to this dynamic field. In this self-paced course, we will explore best practices for legal education and online learning and ways to maximize learner engagement and retention. We’ll strategize on how to diversify your learning outcomes to tap into participants’ multiple learning styles. You’ll reflect on ways to match legal content with the form of multimedia education—combining legal education with the gamification of learning. You’ll study best practices for preparing your content, onboarding and marketing your course, and engaging and rewarding learners by creating an enriching learning experience. Overall, you’ll leave this self-paced orientation session knowing how onboard a course on EducationLaw.org. Most importantly, we hope you’ll leave feeling that the Education Law Association is committed to harnessing the power of education technology to amplify your hard-earned expertise.
About the Instructor
Nathan C. Walker, Ed.D., the managing director of the Education Law Association, founded the social learning community at EducationLaw.org. Nate is a First Amendment educator who has trained and employed over 200 faculty in developing and selling online courses. He previously served as a founding advisor of New York University’s Virtual College and built over 50 online courses on ReligionAndPublicLife.org, a platform he created during the pandemic. He has three learning disabilities and has spent a lifetime studying education systems, including his master’s degree research at Teachers College Columbia University about how effective use of technology can enhance adult learners’ moral and intellectual development. In this on-demand course, Nate will guide you through all the necessary steps to build meaningful educational experiences on EducationLaw.org.
